Welcome to WIDA PRIME V2!

WIDA developed WIDA PRIME V2 as a tool to assist publishers and educators in analyzing their materials for the presence of key components of the WIDA Standards Framework. PRIME stands for Protocol for Review of Instructional Materials for ELLs.

The WIDA PRIME V2 correlation process identifies how the components of the 2012 Amplification of the English Language Development Standards, Kindergarten through Grade 12, and the Spanish Language Development (SLD) Standards, Kindergarten through Grade 12 are represented in instructional materials. These materials may include core and supplemental texts, websites and software (e.g., apps, computer programs), and other ancillary materials. WIDA PRIME V2 is not an evaluative tool that judges the effectiveness of published materials.

Those who complete WIDA PRIME V2 Trainings become Trained Correlators. This may be renewed on an annual basis. Contact WCEPS for pricing details at store@wceps.org or 877-272-5593.

PRIME has been expanded to include:

  • Correlation to the WIDA Standards Framework
  • Connections to English and Spanish Language Development Standards
  • Relevance for both U.S. domestic and international audiences
Please note that WIDA does not endorse any set of instructional materials. WIDA PRIME V2 is not an evaluative tool that judges the effectiveness of published materials using the WIDA Language Development Standards. ELL teachers work with a wide range of needs and in a wide range of environments. For this reason, teachers should consider the information contained in the WIDA PRIME V2 Correlations along with other questions listed in the FAQs to determine how particular materials fit in their program.
