What is a WIDA Institute?

Madison, WI

The WIDA Institute is a four-day comprehensive introduction to explore the WIDA English Language Development standards framework and assessments. A WIDA Institute is a first step in learning how WIDA resources work together as a system to support multilingual students and their teachers. Institute participants will also benefit from networking opportunities with international educators both in person and through an online community forum.

What have teachers said about WIDA?

"We like the WIDA framework because it gives us a strong specific way to measure student needs and progress. It provides both teacher tools and learning opportunities and we use it to measure the success of our program. With numerous other international schools also using the tool it provides a common ground of understanding for comparing programs and for recruiting teachers." -Deputy Head of School, Africa

Who should attend?

The Institute is intended for educators who are new to WIDA, or who are deciding how WIDA assessments and resources can support teaching and learning at their school. All international school teachers, administrators or admissions officers are welcome to enroll in this introductory session.
